As a member of that first generation of children to grow up in St. Louis' “Carr Square Village”, I still share the pride of the village with current and former residents from all over the country. For more than 30 years we have reunited annually at Carr Square Park. The village has been redesigned in recent years and my original address on Lovejoy Lane no longer exists. This painting is a tribute to the unique culture that existed there and now lives on only in our memories.
